Missing Item From Newsletter

I had the following from Donna late last year with a request that I insert it in the winter newsletter. Unfortunately, by the time I composed the Newsletter, I completely forgot about it so it was never inserted. I'm circulating it now to all those with email and I will put it on our website. I'm away to France myself next week so won't be at the next meeting (3rd March). Do please try and bring it to the attention of any at the meeting who you know don't use email.

"A little while ago I got in touch with the Secretary of the Picardy Beekeepers Association (USAP - Union Syndicale des Apiculteurs Picards) as I like Picardy and I thought it would be good for my French! I now subscribe to receive their Newsletter and thought you might like to see the front cover, which shows a traditional hive - une ruche "La Picarde". The secretary, M Bernard Lamidel, lives in Amiens, which is twinned with Darlington. Amiens is of course the main town in Picardy. I have been tempted to visit the headquarters, where they hold courses, events, etc at the Musée de l'Abeille in Thézy-Glimont. Is anyone interested in pursuing the link, with a visit on an open day [this] year perhaps? Let me know if you fancy a weekend in Picardy." - Donna Parker
